The Ages

If you can use your imagination for a little while, you read the following.

Here I provide insight into our past and our present and a little of our future, if you can grasp what is within.

I will provide basic correspondences to Astrology, Magickal Ages, The Kabbalah and The Tarot.
1
Out of The Limitless is Born The Seed this is the seed that is reflected in all nature in energy in the deepest cellular level within out code our very DNA this is The Feathered Serpent Dragon and The Age of Scorpio. Here we are not referring at anytime to the creative or the formative coming into existence of The Universe, we are referring to the cosmological and anthropologic evolution of humanity.

The Age of Scorpio (16,759 to 14,773 BCE or 8600 to 10,800 CE) began as a great Ice Age was slowly coming to an end. This present ice age began, according to current theory, about 40 million years ago, and was the last of perhaps four major ice ages in the history of the planet earth. The present ice age intensified during the Pleistocene period, some 3 million years ago, with glaciers spreading in the northern hemisphere. Since that time the earth has seen cycles of advancing and retreating glaciation on 40,000 and 100,000 year time scales, with the last cycle ending just about 10,000 years ago, during the age of Leo. It is against this backdrop of ice age glaciation that human like ancestors first appeared, as early as perhaps 2.5 million years ago. Near the end of the Pliocene epoch in Africa, an early ancestor of modern humans, called Homo habilis, developed the earliest known stone tools. These were relatively simple tools known as choppers. Homo habilis is presumed to have mastered the Oldowan era tool case which utilized stone flakes and cores, named after the site of Oldupai Gorge in Tanzania. These humans likely subsisted on scavenged meat and wild plants, rather than hunted prey. Around 1.5 million years ago, a more evolved human species, Homo erectus, appeared, learning to control fire and creating more complex chopper tools, as well as expanding out of Africa to reach Asia, as shown by sites such as Zhoukoudian in China. By 1 million years ago, the earliest evidence of humans in Europe is known, as well as use of the more advanced handaxe tool.

Upon the Kabbala this is the Sphere of Kether. The Crown, Numbered 1,(Sphere of The Primum Mobile, The Absolute, The Supreme Monad. While descending The Tree of Life we have The Path of The Fool.*

The Age of Libra

The Age of Libra (15,150 to 13,000 BCE or 10,412 - 12,504 AD) in accordance with its symbolism would be the time of the Balance, pause and consider the meaning of such an astronomical scale of time as has existed displayed in the heavens over the aeons of earth's existence. Even as Libra is the balancing point in the seasonal path of the sun, when the period of day and night are equal and the night force begins to increase, it also appears to be the middle in relation to the present time, to the past, and the future, for the last Age of Libra was some 12 millennia before the present era, and the next is some 11 millennia into the future.

There is past and there is depth here Libra is the machine of the universe because of this it sets itself alone by it concept of machinery. Where does she sit for she joints that which was before and that what is next in equilibrium The Supreme Monad has now see a little of its parts it can look back and it has come from no thought of self to the concept of probable self Libra is not fixed to any particular Sephira for in each she seeks to reconcile and balance - Her Voice is I Balance and it is by this requirement she need to assist in dissolution to provide solution - Solve Coligula.

Libra is the Balance that allows The Third Eye Chakra to become aware of its own subtle body.

The Age of Virgo - Parthenogenesis, the age where we were of a more subtle body able to procreate without the need of copulation. This was the Garden of Eden. There were several root races in existence at the same time; I choose to offer Parthenogenesis as an additional root to explain some anomalies and to highlight some of the Esoteric Significances.

Our bodies were more akin to that of the plant, therefore there is no archaeological evidence, also there are no writings however if able to read certain texts Esoterically they do allude to this period.

When it ended with the ice age covering most of the northern hemisphere civilisations were scattered as the bodies sought warmer climes. Most died those that survived had begun to evolve into a harder form, increasing density of the bones etc

The Age of Virgo (c. 13,000 BCE to c. 10,750 BCE) was the time of Gaia-Earth Mother. It was the end of the last Ice Age, a time of clay pottery, and the first intensive hunter-gatherer culture, as well as the first agriculture in the Near East. Nearly all cultures have stories of a time of great cataclysmic destruction, usually by flood. Conventional scientific theory attempts to explain these flood myths by reference to the known rise in ocean levels that followed the end of the last ice age (and the melting of the ice caps) between 14,000 and 11,000 BCE. While it is certainly true that the seas did rise, by as much as 80-200 feet along different coastlines, the rise would have been a very slow process, hardly noticeable in a single lifetime, and definitely not a cataclysmic flood that rapidly destroyed human civilization. To explain the myths and legends of sudden, massive and devastating floods a cause other than the slow end of the ice age is needed.

This is The Abyss on The Kabbalah and The False Sephira of DAATH.

This is The Ascended Star and The Realm from which the Gods are Born via Sirius in the constellation of Orion.

The Fall of Spirit Hurtling via the Abyss towards Matter. This is the inception of Lucifer who in he or she's fall drops from the forehead, (The Third Eye a green stone. This green stone has also been referred to as a Sapphire. There is an area of Moldovia in Europe where a Green Comet describes as a Dragon cast off parts of it's tail. When they hit the earth they formed a tektite this is called Moldavite. From this Lapis there is a Direct connection to the Emerald Tablets of Thoth Trimagestis.

The Tarot is The Empress - She Spans the Abyss her Cry is I Balance which she does by reconciling the Seeds of the masculine and the feminine allowing one to exist within the other.

The Planet is Venus and Also Mercury
So therefore the Voice is also - I analyse for this was the necessity of Lucifers Gift that we should question everything and break free of the bonds that said we cannot partake of the Fruits of The Trees of Life and of Knowledge.

As yet we have no Magickal Aeon

The Age of Leo with massive global warming that resulted in the deglaciation of Earth at the end of the last Ice Age, This was the Time of The Building of The Great Sphinx upon the Giza Plateau. It's message simply stating that its Age had begun.

The Age of Leo (10750 BCE - 8600 BCE) began as the last great Ice Age was ending. Not surprisingly, then, the period was characterized by Sun worship, and Leo symbology was the use of the Lions. The use of Gold as currency was the norm, and Gold and Lion are unique symbols of the sign Leo and its planetary ruler the Sun. The Vedic scripture Ramayana tells us of the Kings who ruled in the Age of Leo, and reveals that they all considered themselves Suryavanshi, meaning the direct descendants of the Sun. The Age of Leo was chosen by the Ancient Egyptians as the First Age 'rediscovered' by the western world when Napoleon's soldiers came across it in 1798, the body of a male lion with the head of a human. The traditional and probably still majority view is that the Great Sphinx was built at the same time as the nearby Pyramid of Khafre (Khaf-Ra, Chephren) in about 2540 B.C.E. However there has been lively debate in recent years arguing that it may be anywhere from two to four times that old. John Anthony West first noticed weathering patterns on the Sphinx that were consistent with water erosion rather than erosion produced by wind and sand.

The Sphinx is carved of rock, so it cannot be dated by the radio carbon technique. The only other method of dating is by using contemporary texts that refer to its construction, but there are none of these either, therefore, no definite facts are known. Another notion is that it was built when the Sahara was still green, and we know that the Sahara was once fertile, but over the millennia, it slowly eroded. This could be an explanation for the water damage done to the outer walls of the Sphinx. Graham Hancock, the author of The Message of the Sphinx, believes that it is a lion because it was built in the Age of Leo. In another book The Orion Mystery (Heinemann-Mandarin) he demonstrates that the best fit for the Giza Pyramids/Nile pattern with the Orion's belt/Milky Way pattern occurred when the sky was pushed back in time (i.e. precessed) to the epoch of 10,500 BCE.

It is possible the Egyptian Sphinx had its beginning in a much earlier period and portrays great astrological significance, with its human head on an animal's body (definitely a Lion). It could represent man on earth during 11,010 BCE the Age of Leo, or may have been a monument built to symbolize the evolution of man from the animal or most likely the triumph of the human spirit over the beast. Some believe that the Sphinx is a combined form of woman and lion to recall and reveal the original construction of the zodiac as we know it now, under the sign of Virgo, 15,000 years ago when Virgo occupied the position of the First Sign for an ancient civilization. This could have been a period where men first mapped the stars. The Sphinx may be a monument that foretold something that began with the Virgin and ended with the Lion. It may also represent the two races of mankind, the heavenly man (created) and the counter part earthly man (animal man). In the Temple of Esneh in Egypt, there is a great sky-painting in the portico on the ceiling which shows the whole picture of the zodiac with all its constellations, called the Zodiac of Denderah. Between the figures of Virgo, The Virgin, and Leo, The Lion, there is carved the figure of the sphinx with the head of a woman and the body of a lion. The woman’s face is looking at Leo and the lion’s tail is pointing at Virgo, leading to the assumption that we begin with the Virgin and end with Leo.

Prash Trivedi on his website, Dawn of the Aquarius Age - The Message of the Ancients: A Vedic Perspective believes the key to unlocking the recently discovered "Orion" mystery of the Pyramids, the "Draconis" mystery of temples in Angkor, and the "Pleiades" mystery of the Mayan civilization, lies in the ancient Vedic texts, which contain more references concerning all these sacred constellations and deep sky objects than any other ancient manuscripts. The Orion mystery of the Pyramids arises from the fact that the three Pyramids at Giza, located south-west of Cairo, are aligned exactly as the three middle stars of the constellation of Orion namely Alnitak, Alnilam and Mintaka. Also, the three Pyramids are aligned at an angle of 45 degrees, and astronomical data shows that the belt of Orion was tilted at such an angle around 10,500 BC. Hence, a startling conclusion looms on the horizon, which is that the Pyramids were constructed not around 2500 BC by the Egyptians, but by a more advanced civilization thousands of years earlier.

The mystery deepens when one finds that the temples at Angkor in Cambodia form a shape exactly similar to the constellation of Draconis. Using astronomical data, once again it is found that the temples align with the constellation as it appeared around 10,500 BC. It is also interesting to note that the constellations of Orion and Draconis lie almost opposite to each other in the celestial view from Earth. It is interesting that the figure of 10,500 BC comes up in both cases, because this is also the time given by esoteric astrologers for the last great global cataclysm which destroyed a civilization much more advanced than our own. Among climatologists, this period is known as the Younger Dryas, or the Big Freeze, a brief cold climate period at the end of the Pleiostocene period (c. 10,900-9,500 BCE), the last great geologic epoch before the present time began about 10,000 years ago. While the Younger Dryas had the greatest effect in Europe, it was noted throughout the world. Nothing of the size, extent, or rapidity of this period of abrupt climate change has been experienced since.
It is a fact that ca. 10,000 BC, there were the first signs of civilisations, especially on the eastern shores of the Mediterranean Sea, and the timeframe of the founding of Jericho, a city located near the Jordan River in the West Bank of the Palestinian territories. Situated well below sea level on an east-west route 16 kilometres (10 mi) north of the Dead Sea, Jericho is the lowest permanently inhabited site on earth, and is believed to be the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world. Described in the Old Testament as the "City of Palm Trees", copious springs in and around Jericho made it an attractive site for human habitation for thousands of years. Known in Judeo-Christian tradition as the place of the Israelites' return from bondage in Egypt, led by Joshua, the successor to Moses, archaeologists have unearthed the remains of more than 20 successive settlements in Jericho, the first of which dates back 11,000 years (9000 BCE), almost to the very beginning of the Holocene epoch of the Earth's history.

During the Younger Dryas period of cold and drought, permanent habitation of any one location was not possible. However, the spring at what would become Jericho was a popular camping ground for Natufian hunter-gatherer groups, who left a scattering of crescent microlith tools behind them. Around 9600 the droughts and cold of the Younger Dryas Stadial came to an end, making it possible for Natufian groups to extend the duration of their stay, eventually leading to year round habitation and permanent settlement. The first permanent settlement was built near the Ein as-Sultan spring between 10000 and 9000 BCE. Construction at the site appears to predate the invention of agriculture, with the construction of Natufian culture structures beginning earlier than 9000 BCE. As the world warmed, a new culture based on agriculture and sedentary dwelling emerged, which archaeologists have termed "Pre-Pottery Neolithic A" (abbreviated as PPNA). PPNA villages are characterized by small circular dwellings, burials of the dead within the floors of buildings, reliance on hunting wild game, the cultivation of wild or domestic cereals, and no use of pottery. At Jericho, circular dwellings were built of clay and straw bricks left to dry in the sun, which were plastered together with a mud mortar. Each house measured about 5 metres across, and was roofed with mud-smeared brush. Hearths were located within and outside the homes.

By about 9400 BCE the town had grown to more than 70 dwellings, and was home to over 1000 people. The most striking aspect of this early town was a massive stone wall over 3.6 metres high, and 1.8 metres wide at the base. Inside this wall was a tower over 3.6 metres high, containing an internal staircase with 22 stone steps. The wall and tower were unprecedented in human history, and would have taken a hundred men more than a hundred days to construct it. The use of this wall and tower was likely for defence against flood water and mud flows from the nearby Jordan river.

Age of Cancer with domestication and the Biblical Flood, The time line of the Biblical flood however is not accurate and would of coincided with The End of The Age of Virgo and a little after the building of the Great Sphinx.

As for the civilisations that fell during the flood some philosophers in particular Plato suggested Atlantis, others allude to Lemuria and The Lost Continent of Mu, The Justified and The Ancient.

The Epic of Gilgamesh when read esoterically provides the most valuable insights to The Great a Flood, further his interaction Enkidu shows the remnants of mankind's less physically evolved nature.

Either way what survived from the flood reinforced the priesthoods of Egypt - this is known as the Red Priesthood and eventually they were successful in changing the very structure of that society and influencing us into our current days.

The Age of Cancer (c. 8600 BCE to c. 6450 CE) is the time speculated as to the occurrence of the great floods that are described in nearly every major culture (including the Bible). This is also the period when many cultures had religious practices that involved worship of the Moon - the heavenly body that rules Cancer, as many cultures became aware of how the Moon affected the rising and falling of the water: the tides. In the case of China, the Moon was the primary element used to describe spiritual occurrence and also used to time their metaphysical practice. Even today the Moon is more significant than the Sun in Chinese astrological interpretations, and plays the primary role in their calendar, (the Chinese New Year is calculated on the movement of the Moon, not the Sun).

This was the period known as the Neolithic Age, or Late Stone Age when the great motif of the Age was the womb and tomb. Both of these symbolize the vagina of Mother Earth, who gives birth and takes back into herself the bodies of her children. The sign Cancer is also associated with the archetype of the Great Mother, which deals with the womb, bearing, birthing, nurturing, protecting, and domestic life. During this time, burial rites developed in which corpses were buried in the fetal position, and many anthropologists believe that men probably did not realize their role in procreation, so when babies popped out of women they trembled in awe of the feminine. The Great Mother seemed to possess an incredible power, and in this sense, She was terrifying! This was a matriarchal period, which is evinced in many artifacts dating to this time period with exclusive depictions of the feminine figure. Many figurines found show breasts, incised vulvas and heavy hips, and are sometimes enthroned and guarded by lions or cats (Age of Leo reference).

The sign of Cancer symbolizes our tribal origins and our family, and Tribalism became the dominant mode of consciousness during this period. Even today, much of our unconscious fear of the dark and death is connected to the fear of the Great Mother, who symbolizes here a regressive loss of ego-consciousness and a merging back with the tribe. This was the period of moving from caves to fixed dwellings, when humans learned to spin and weave and make pottery, to grow crops and domesticate animals. The Australian archaeologist Vere Gordon Childe coined the term Neolithic Revolution to describe this period when ancient peoples switched from nomadic, hunter-gatherer behaviour to a settled, agrarian way of life, and it was the first of a series of agricultural revolutions punctuating human history. Agriculture gave humans more control over their food supply, but required settled occupation of territory, encouraging larger social groups.

Believed to have occurred somewhere in southwest Asia around 8000 BC–7000 BC, the Neolithic Revolution has been called the single most important change in the history of humanity. Living in one spot would have more easily permitted the accrual of personal possessions and an attachment to certain areas of land. From such a position, it is argued, prehistoric people were able to stockpile food to survive lean times and trade unwanted surpluses with others. Once trade and a secure food supply were established, populations could grow, and society would have diversified into food producers and artisans. Such relative complexity would have required some form of social organisation to work efficiently and so it is likely that populations which had such organisation, perhaps such as that provided by religion were better prepared and more successful. Also, during this time property ownership became increasingly important to all people.

Towards the end of this Age came the domestication of the horse and wild cattle, the invention of the wheel and weaving, and some of the first known examples of metal working. These new technologies began to liberate humanity from the basic survival needs of food, water, shelter, and reproduction. No longer solely at the mercy of Mother Nature, new choices were born and intellectual development began to birth a new myth out of the Great Mother. Jacques Cauvin, the excavator of the Natufian settlement at Mureybet in northern Syria, was the first to express the idea that the Neolithic revolution was the result of a revolutionary change in the human psychology, a "revolution of symbols" which led to new beliefs about the world and shared community rituals embodied in corpulent female figurines and the methodical assembly of aurochs horns.

The Age of Gemini is associated with the invention of writing, mankind developed more capable pictograms and hieroglyphs communication across the world improved and with it the interchanging of cultural ideas.

The Age of Gemini (c. 6180 BCE to c. 4220 BCE) aligned with the "Golden Age of Wisdom". The Phoenician, Egyptian, Babylonian, Assyrian and Vedic cultures are testimony to the cult of the Twins who were born of the mating of the universal male principle symbolized by the Sun and universal female principle symbolized by Earth and the Moon. Since Gemini is the sign of writing and communication, we find that new languages were discovered and spread in this time. The Sumerians, who would eventually give the the art of writing to Mesopotamia, began around this period. Accounting and taxes also become part of life along with increased trade. Simple farming based on cattle herding and cereal agriculture took hold along the Nile and as far south as the Sudan. This may also be the time of the Great Flood although there is little agreement among scholars on this great historic occurrence. Although neolithic agriculture had by that time already reached the Pannonian plain, its spread may have been pushed by survivors of the flood.

The Giant represents the Constellation of Orion. In Ancient Egypt Orion was known as "The Soul of Osiris". It follows that The Giant, who is usually referred to as Narmer by Egyptologists after the catfish and the chisel emblems in the chiefs at the top of the Plate, is in fact Osiris, the Lord of Precession … as opposed to Osiris, the Lord of the Dead. The Giant appears to capture one of the Gemini Twins, perhaps in an attempt to halt the progression into the New Age of Taurus. More likely however he is giving the Twin his blessing in the closing minutes in the Age of Gemini. The scene is reminiscent of a person receiving a Knighthood for services rendered. The one figure represents the set of Gemini Twins since the Twin's body is facing forward towards the forthcoming Age of Taurus, while his face is looking back upon the Age of Gemini. For the complete story of the Nermer Plate, believed to be a sky chart commemorating the Dawn of the Age of Taurus in the Precession of the Equinoxes, see Ancient Egyptians and the Constellations by Audrey Fletcher This astronomical event occurred on September 21st 4468BCE … when the Autumn Equinox of the Sun was in conjunction with the Milky Way, initializing the movement of the Sun out of the Age of Gemini and into the Age of Taurus.

In the East this period corresponded to the flourishing period of early Hinduism. It was under this sign that Rama, the seventh incarnation of Vishnu was manifested by the birth of the two pair of brothers: Rama and Lakshmana on the one hand, Satrughna and Bharata on the other. Rama Himself had twin sons: Lav and Kush (in harmony with the name of the constellation where the Sun was at that time.) Lav went to Russia from this we get the name of Slav. The other son, Kush went to China, hence we get the name Kushan. These two divine principles were also incarnated as Buddha and Mahavira, then as Adi Shankaracharya and Gnyaneshwara. In other Avatars they were Hassan and Hussein the sons of Fatima and Hazrat Ali . . . Rama incarnated during the Treta Yuga when the fourth chakra (Adi Anahathh) was opened in Virata.

Among its many meanings, the symbol Gemini stands for two pillars. In ancient times, the Twins were the guardians of all doorways and entrances. Pairs of gods are often found at the gates of Babylonian, Egyptian and Assyrian temples and houses. The two gods are most often depicted as brothers, although they have been represented as male and female siblings as well. The Assyrians worshiped the twin deities Nebo and his wife, Tasmit. In the East, the Mahabharata the ancient Indian epic, tells us that "there were two brothers names Sunda and Upusunda, living together and incapable of being slain by anyone unless each slew the other." In the better-known epic, the Ramayana, Rama, a great Indian saint, has a twin brother. In the later Greek and Roman legends, Leda, wife of Tundarus, the king of Sparta, was seduced by Zeus (Jupiter) in the guise of a swan. Leda subsequently gave birth to two eggs, from one of which came Helen and Clytemnestra, and from the other, Castor and Pollux, for whom the modern-day Gemini twins stars are named. The legend of Castor and Pollux can be traced back to the island of Samothrace, a place which was actually dedicated to the cult of the twin gods. The aboriginal people of ancient Greece celebrated what was known as the "mysteries of the Cabeiri" or the Great Ones consisting of a Mother Goddess and her two divine Children.

The Age of Taurus with Ancient Egypt and its massive pyramids, this was truly a matriarchal age however the feminine did have to fight to remain in power members of the Red Priesthood wishing to install a Patriarchy under a monotheistic titular demiurge.

During the Age of Taurus the population recovered whether there was a king or a queen there was no seniority between them. The female was respected and would lead with great effectiveness. Whether as a Queen, a High Priestess or a Warrior and often as all three.

The Age of Taurus (c. 4300 BCE to c. 2150 BCE) was the age of the material establishment of a civilization. This fixed earth sign's vibrations produced the need to settle and identify the tribal consciousness within a given geographical context. In essence, this entailed merging the resources of the people with the resources of the land, and thus is established the concept of a national home, transcending tribal differences and providing the foundation for the creation of a civilization. Taurus is a fixed earth sign, focusing on the material, and these descriptions closely associate with the fundamental changes of this period that brought on an important evolution in the human experience. It is during this age that several groups of peoples began to settle (fixed), and grow from the cultivation of the land (earth) through extensive agriculture. Instead of tribal groups wandering around searching for food, the material aspect of food was conquered, so it could be in supply all year long. This development led to another characteristic aspect of Taurus: the love of beauty and the massive production of art. The ruling planet of Taurus is Venus, who is among other things, the patroness of the arts, an influence which imparts a great sensuality and creative inspiration to the cultures under its rays. Since these early cultures no longer had to spend all their time collecting food, there was time to develop art and other pursuits which greatly enriched their societies. Thus the age of Taurus saw the first true material establishment of civilization.

Of course the best known civilization of this period is ancient Egypt, and later the ancient Greek historian Herodotus once wrote of the Egyptians and their earth:

They gather in the fruits of the earth with less labor than any other people, for they have not the toil of breaking up the furrow with the plow. When the river comes of its own accord and irrigates their fields, and having irrigated them, subsides. Each man sows his own land, waits for harvest time, and then gathers it in. The Histories, chapter 2

This passage is an interesting observation, since it points out that perhaps one reason why the Egyptians were so successful in their agriculture was simply because it was so easy. If so, this would suggest another attribute often associated with Taurus, the desire for ease (which is sometimes seen as laziness), was important for the development of agriculture.

Taurus is, of course, the sign of the Bull, and during the age of Taurus, bulls and their worship were prevalent in many cultures, among them the Bull of Minos, and the Minotaur of the Cretan Labyrinth. At certain times of the year, young boys and girls were ceremoniously sacrificed to the Bull god through sport. During these religious festivals, young people jumped through the horns of the bull, and sometimes even danced on top of them. It is actually from this practice that modern sport of bull fighting evolved. The bull was also a major figure in the religion of the Chaldeans, and in many of their temples one can still see the winged bulls that were carved and painted on the walls. In the Middle east, many of the nomadic tribes worshipped the "golden calf" as described in the old testament. During this time the Hindus had the legend of Krishna - the "Christ" of his era - who was said to have been a herder of cows, and that the holiness of cows - and of course bulls - in the Hindu faith was formed, which still exists even today.

In the Egyptian religion a living bull was a representative of the god Apis, who presided over the underworld (the domain of Scorpio which is the polar opposite of Taurus). In the same way monks in Tibet have their teacher reincarnated through various lives, the Egyptian priests believed that Apis would come to them occasionally as a bull. This was said to have occurred when the bull had the markings of the other three fixed signs of the zodiac: a white triangle on his forehead (Aquarius), the mark of the eagle on his back (Scorpio), and in his mouth, a beetle (the scarab), a creature who was associated with Leo during this time. The pharaoh of Egypt had two elements which symbolized his power, and the one representing religion was closely associated to the influence of Taurus. On his head was the crown which represented his unifying political leadership, (which had been divided earlier into an Upper and Lower Egypt - a leftover from the duality of the previous Age of Gemini). In his hand he held the Ankh - the symbol of life - which represented his leadership in religious affairs. The Ankh closely resembles the symbol for Venus (the planet that rules Taurus), for it is a circle on top of a cross. The Bulls of Egypt are usually depicted in drawings with the disk of the Sun between their horns, symbolic of the One permeating Life-Force which was manifesting itself through the form of the Taurean age: the Bull.

In the ancient Egyptian cults of the dead, the national deity was Osiris, God of the Dead and the Underworld (Apis was one of many names for this deity). During the age of Taurus, Osiris was often depicted as a man with a bull's head. Later on, interestingly enough, this was changed to the head of the Ram when the Age changed into that of Aries. The power of Taurus held the people to the earth, and the Egyptians built their vast agricultural empire through an economy based on slavery. Among the many peoples the Egyptians kept in servitude were the Jews, who would develop a very important concept in the evolution of religious thought - monotheism. It is in the history of this ancient race that we find the transition period between two other world Ages, that of Aries and Pisces.

The Age of Aries with the Iron Age, and the turmoil of mans wars spreading in the name of power and greed.

This age was all about the growth of the I AM. During this time mankind began to loose the natural ability to commune with nature what was was natural became supernatural, where once we walked in a world surrounded by fairies Gods, Goddesses, Elves, Elementals and Fey... such matters became tales told around the fire as the lands magic and energy became blind to the majority. The Fey retreated into their barrows in the earth and their influence was only to be found by those they chose to reveal it with and those who remembered how to share it.

The Age of Aries (c. 2150 BCE to c. 1 CE) was signified by the predominance of Mars over Venus: in other words an economy and civilization which was based on war and the conquest of enemies as opposed to a more peaceful existence based on soil cultivation. The energy which was stored in the fixed sign of Taurus was ready to be activated through the cardinal male sign, Aries (by definition, a sign of immediate and direct self-expression) which is symbolized by the Ram. The basic characterstics which were to be expressed during its dominance were a pioneering spirit, courage, distinct individuality, and an inner sense of truth and self-righteousness. In order for either a person or a nation to acquire a sense of individuality, the differences between oneself and one's neighbors must be clearly marked. Therefore, the Age of Aries indicated the emergence of various tribes of people and the already existing civilizations into an era of great aggressiveness and violence. It was during this period that the empires of the Persians, Greeks, Romans, and Egyptians held tremendous power. Egypt had made the transition from a relatively peaceful people to a very bellicose race bent on incorporating all of the known world into its pyramidal structure.

The Age of Aries was a solar, or masculine age, the Age of the Ram, of Mars, and of the Hero. In the late Bronze Age, Hellenic heroes in Greece and Aryan invaders in India attacked the sacred groves and grottoes of the Great Goddess. These heroes on horseback, and princes in their Solar Chariots, wrested control from the local rulers, destroying the fertility cults whose priestesses and oracles supported the old dynasties. The Earth Mother under her various names and forms had demanded tribute thorugh ritual sacrifice of young princes and warriors to assure the continued fertility of the land. In India, priests of the conquering Aryans married local goddesses to the male deities of the Vedic Pantheon and tried to outlaw human sacrifices. In mainland Greece, heroes like Perseus I, King of Mycenae, invaded the sacred shrine of Medusa, protectress of Lady Athene, destroying her ritual masks, wrecking the statuary and driving out her priestesses. Patriarchy replaced Mother Right in the late Bronze and early Iron Age and priests replaced priestesses, ushering in a period of violent heroic acticity and feats of derring-do. Heroic myths about warrior-princes defeating dragon-lady monsters reveal that they believed they were delivering the countryside from bloodthirsty demonesses who laid waste the land. They believed that power had passed from the older goddesses to their own newer divinities, and that their Solar masculine worldview was more orderly and rational.

The Age of Aries brought about a dramatic change in symbolism from the Lunar (feminine) to the Solar (masculine), having a great effect on the forms by which the Egyptian gods were represented. The cult of the Bull, Apis, diminished and Amon-Re became Ram-headed, his strength growing in popularity with the now more bellicose population. The cult of the Ram spread to all parts of the civilized world. The names of many of the major deities were changed to illustrate the power of the cosmic forces at work in the new Age. Mithra, the Sun god of Persia, who used to be called "the Sacred Bull," now became the "The slayer of the Bull." Ashur, Sun god of the Assyrians and known as "The Great Bull," was transformed into a Marslike god of war. The sign of the Ram signified the desire to express one-self as a distinct individual and as a separate ego, to dominate one's environment.

The culture of Greece was based on the ability of a person to represent himself individually, and thus gave rise to the first democratic state (here Libra is also at work in terms of the systems of social justice and quality). But as every state of the Greek isles wished to be recognized as separate and supreme, Greece fell into a series of wars between these city-states, resulting in her downfall. The literature of the Age bore witness to the emphasis on the martial arts, especially feats of courage by individual combatants. It was an age of warriors and thinkers; an age in which the male forces predominated. Aries is also a sign of travel, adventure, and the exploration - and often, conquest - of new lands. This was reflected in the work and life of the Greek traveler and commentator Herodotus, author of The Histories, in The Illiad and The Odyssey of Homer, Thucydides' The History of the Peloponnesian Wars and the Aeneid of Vergil, to cite a few of the more famous classics of the Age.

And the Age of Pisces

We find the Birth of Christianity that which has gone before is raped, what myth that has gone before is twisted to fit, what culture that has gone before is mostly eradicated. This is the Age of the Culmination of Mankind's turning away from nature, divine femininity, natural law, and respect. Truly there has been no lower aspect in the History of Humanity than the advent of such a cruel religion based upon lies, deceit, dogma and control. And it has numerous offshoots and here The Patriarchy of Church and State stand on either side of the temple. The Pope and The Emperor outside the Veil of Initiation afore The High Priestess who rightfully remains aloof to them.

The Age of Pisces (c. 1 AD to about 2150 AD) This Age is now in its death throws and while as with all ages it was a requirement it will be a blessing to see it gone for as it's influence will continue for awhile just yet, we know that time is not in a fixed line. Therefore already The Age of Aquarius is doing her work and shining her affairs upon the illusions.

The Pax Romana, or Roman Peace, a Latin term referring to the Roman Empire in its glorified prime, was just beginning, a fitting end to the Age of Aries, the warrior. From the end of the Republican civil wars, beginning with the accession of Augustus in 27 BC, this era in Roman history lasted until 180 AD and the death of Marcus Aurelius. Though the use of the word 'Peace' may be a bit misleading, this period refers mainly to the great Romanization of the western world. The Roman legal system which forms the basis of many western court systems today brought law and order to the provinces. The Legions patrolled the borders with success, and though there were still many foreign wars, the internal empire was free from major invasion, piracy or social disorder on any grand scale. The empire, wracked with civil war for the last century of the Republic, and for years following the Pax Romana, was largely free of large scale power disputes. Only the year 69 AD, the so-called 'Year of the Four Emperors', following the fall of Nero and the Julio-Claudian line, interrupted nearly 200 years of civil order. Even this was only a minor hiccup in comparison to other eras. The arts and architecture flourished as well, along with commerce and the economy.

Here what matrices of control that went before were perfected until the majority cannot even think for themselves for fear of ridicule by being considered a visionary, a heretic, a blasphemer, a Provocateur, a libertine... At least I am proud to accept all of those titles.

Pisces is Ruled by Neptune The Feminine may of been suppressed yet her messages continue to spill forth from the Grail Cup. Via the unconscious that which is suppressed becomes expressed in Art, Music, and Writing and with the Quickening Light of The Aquarian Star shining onto the Great Unconscious Sea of Mother, much has started to evolve and leap forth to rattle the cages of The Man Zoo anew.

So despite its horrid wars, it's lack of humanity it has created it's very own paradoxes to ensure there is at least some illumination free to those who are able to see it.

The Age of Aquarius NOW. Within linear time The Age of Aquarius is not in its fullness until the year 2150 AD

This age is not yet written yet there was an Aquarian Age Before so we look backwards to our future.

The Age of Aquarius (2150 CE to 4300 CE or 23,970 BCE to 21,810 BCE) in accordance with its symbolism would be the Age of Man, or more properly, Enlightened Man. Perhaps this is an appropriate time, the time of the Balance, to pause in our review of the astrological ages and consider the meaning of such an astronomical scale of time as has existed displayed in the heavens over the aeons of earth's existence.

Scientists estimate the age of the universe itself to be some 13 to 14 billion years old, with the age of our own solar system estimated at about 4-1/2 billion years. It would take another 2 billion years for the earth and moon system to form, while the earliest fossils only appeared during the next 500 million years. It wouldn't be until the Cambrian period, around 550 million years ago that complex organisms would develop producing the first respresentatives of modern groups of species. This diversification appears to have occured so rapidly that scientists have termed the period the Cambrian explosion because of the vast increase in the diverse forms of life. Life would continue to diversify another 200 million years until the Mesozoic era and the age of the dinosaurs, an age which itself would last another 200 million years. Finally, around 65 million years ago the first primates appeared, but it would take another 60 million years before the first split of hominids appeared, around 5 to 6 milliion years ago. Then, at the beginning of the last great ice age 2.6 million years ago, the stone age began. Another million years would pass before the earliest possible evidence of the controlled use of fire by Homo Erectus, and another 700,000 years before the the earliest demonstrable evidence of such use 700,000 years ago. Neanderthal man appeared around 350,000 years ago and finally, the genus we recognize today as earliest man, Homo Sapiencs, appears in Africa 200,000 years ago in the middle Paleolithic period.

With the Age of Libra, we come to the latter part of the Upper Paleolithic (or Upper Palaeolithic) period, the third and last subdivision of the Paleolithic or Old Stone Age as it is understood in Europe, Africa and Asia. Very broadly it dates to between 40,000 and 10,000 years ago. Modern humans (i.e. Homo sapiens) began migrating out of Africa, Siberia and China around 100,000 years ago, bur for the next 60,000 years the lifestyle of the humans changed little from that of their predecessors. Then, relatively suddenly, about 40,000 years ago, they began to produce regionally distinctive cultures, using new technologies, more efficient hunting techniques and having a more refined aesthetic sensibility. This shift from Middle to Upper Paleolithic is called the Upper Paleolithic Revolution. Technological advances included significant developments in flint tool manufacturing with industries based on fine blades rather than simpler and shorter flakes. Burins and racloirs attest to the working of bone, antler and hides. Advanced darts and harpoons also appear in this period.

Artistic work also blossomed with Venus figurines, cave painting, petroglyphs, and exotic raw materials found far from their sources suggesting the emergence of trading links. Among the most famous of the cave paintings are the Lascaux cave paintings, a complex of caves in southwestern France containing some of the earliest known art, dating back to somewhere between 13,000 and 15,000 BCE. More complex social groupings emerged, supported by more varied and reliable food sources and specialised tool types, probably contributing to increasing group identification or ethnicity. These group identities produced distinctive symbols and rituals which are an important part of modern human behaviour. The reasons for these changes in human behaviour have been attributed to the changes in climate during the period which encompasses a number of global temperature drops, meaning a worsening of the already bitter climate of the last ice age. These may have reduced the supply of usable timber and forced people to look at other materials whilst flint becomes brittle at low temperatures and may not have functioned as a tool. It is also argued that the appearance of language made these behavioural changes possible. The complexity of the new human capabilities hints that humans were less capable of planning or foresight before 40,000 years and that speech changed that.

Images of women, mostly figurines of the same type as the "Venus" of Willendorf, all dating to the Paleolithic (Stone Age) period, far outnumber images of men and indeed are the most common cult figure remaining from this little understood long period of prehistory. Some have argued that this would mean that in the hunting culture of Paleolithic society; a matriarchy existed and women ruled. Others suggest that the role of the male in reproduction was not yet understood and did not occur till the Neolithic times of agrarian and nomadic peoples. Most likely the people lived close to nature meaning they honored the Earth Mother or the Mother Goddess as well as the male energy of the sun as they attempted to live in harmony with the rhythms of the universe.

Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1961), the Swiss psychiatrist and founder of analytical psychology, emphasized understanding the psyche through exploring the world of dreams, art, mythology, world religion and philosophy. Just as all humans share a common physical heritage and predisposition towards specific physical forms (like having two legs, a heart, etc.) so do all humans have a common psychological predisposition. Our physical predispostions are determined by our DNA, while our psychological predispositions are stored in the collective unconscious. Jung was the first scientist to use the Age of Aquarius to help us understand the new paradigms available when we bring the unconscious to consciousness. Astrology and the prehistory use of the zodiac has a relationship to the zeitgeist today, for as Jung noted in Flying Saucers, Modern Myth of Things Seen in the Skies, published in 1959, shortly before his death:

"As we know from ancient Egyptian history, there are symptoms of psychic changes that always appear at the end of one Platonic month and at the beginning of another. They are, it seems, changes in the constellation of the psychic dominants, of the archetypes or "Gods" as they used to be called, which bring about, or accompany, long-lasting transformations of the collective psyche. This transformation started within the historical tradition and left traces behind within it, first in the transition of the Age of Taurus to that of Aries, and then from Aries to Pisces, whose beginning coincides with the rise of Christianity.

We are now nearing that great change which may be expected when the spring-point enters Aquarius. It would be frivolous of me to conceal from the reader that reflections such as these are not only exceedingly unpopular but come perilously close to those turbid fantasies which becloud the minds of world-improvers and other interpreters of "signs and portents". But, I must take this risk, even if it means putting my hard-won reputation for truthfulness, trustworthiness and scientific judgment in jeopardy. I can assure my readers that I do not do this with a light heart. I am, to be quite frank, concerned for all those that are unprepared by the events in question and disconcerted by their incomprehensible nature. Since, so far as I know, no one else has yet felt moved to examine and set forth the possible psychic consequences of this foreseeable change, I deem it my duty to do what I can in this respect. I undertake this thankless task in the expectation that my chisel will make no impression on the hard stone it meets."

The Age of Capricorn

The Age of Capricorn (c. 21,600 BCE to c. 19,450 BCE) was the time of Saturn, or Kronos, sometimes referred to in Greece as "The Golden Age". It was the end of the last Ice Age, a time of clay pottery, and the first intensive hunter-gatherer culture, as well as the first agriculture in the Near East. Nearly all cultures have stories of a time of great cataclysmic destruction, usually by flood. Conventional scientific theory attempts to explain these flood myths by reference to the known rise in ocean levels that followed the end of the last ice age (and the melting of the ice caps) between 14,000 and 11,000 BC.

Tradition tells us that the GOLDEN AGE was populated by people who had realized the Self. When the last Golden Age faded, Earth began to align with a new pole star - Cygnus, the Swan, beginning a declining cycle of human affairs. In mythology, Cygnus, pole star of the post-Golden Age era, was the son of Sthenelos, who was the son of Perseus and Andromeda. making Cygnus the grandson of Perseus and Andromeda. As the cosmic season of the fall drew closer, Vega (the Arabic word for "fall") became the next pole star. During this time, myth speaks of the decline of Lemuria and the sinking of Atlantis (around 12,000 years ago). Vega, also associated with the decline of the female principle in the world, ruled over the Age of Virgo. When the stars of that constellation are joined up by lines to identify its outline, a female figure is seen falling backwards. Most of the esoteric astrologers agree that the last major cataclysm occurred around 10,000 BC when the Age of Virgo gave way to the Age of Leo.

Hope called the Age of Virgo the “mid-period” of Atlantean history, and regarded it as their Golden Age in Art, Science and Spirituality. She said the priests of the Order of Ta-Khu [Atlantean Lord of Time and Space] had knowledge of “genetics, the personality types associated with each genetic pool, and the identification and isolation of those genes that carried specific E.T. memory banks”. Plato affirms that the demise of Atlantis took place "9,000 years before the times of Solon", who, according to Plato, visited Egypt at about 600 BC, making a total of about 11,600 BP (Before Present), precisely the date of the cataclysmic ending of the Pleistocene Ice Age, as given by the geologic record. The famous zodiac of Dendera indicates that the constellation Leo lay at the vernal point in the epoch of its start. Now, the era of Leo centers at about 11,720 BC, in close agreement with the date given by Plato for the end of Atlantis and the start of the present era. What event but the cataclysmic end of the Pleistocene Ice Age and the consequent demise of Atlantis could better serve for the new start of times marked in that famous zodiac?

The end of the Pleistocene Ice Age also marked the rise of agriculture, of city-building and of the Neolithic both in the Old and the New Worlds. According to a universal tradition, civilization was brought just about everywhere by white, blond, blue-eyed, titanic giants. Are these giants are no other than the Atlanteans fleeing their destroyed Paradise and moving into their new homelands in order to make a fresh start? Are these giants the Nephilim and Titans that are written of in The Book of Enoch?

As if to confirm this worldwide tradition, it is at this date that we start to find fossil skeletons of Cro-Magnoid men, so often equated with the Atlanteans. And these are found precisely the sites connected with the rise of the Neolithic and of Civilisation.

The Sphere of Binah is Understanding only by completing the above formula can The Supreme Monad begin to become Objective in its reflection of the Darkness of Space. There was no concept of space until it observed information with light falling over it's surface. That concept provided depth via the interplay of light and dark. And that concept allowed for the perception of time which is how long does it take the observer to move its vision from one point to the next and to the next recording and receiving information to the conclusion that the measurement itself has become time. Once that concept of Time has been fixed within space the perceiver can then build further dimensions upon its view of reality.

The Age of Sagittarius

The Age of Sagittarius (c. 19,450 to 17,300 BCE or 6300 to 8600 CE) was characterized by a relatively advanced flint tool-making style of the Upper Palaeolithic referred to as the Solutrean industry. The industry was named by Gabriel de Mortillet to describe the second stage of his system of cave chronology, following the Mousterian. The era's finds include tools, ornamental beads, and bone pins as well as prehistoric art.

Solutrean tool-making employed techniques not seen before and not rediscovered for millennia. The Solutrean has relatively finely worked, bifacial points made with lithic reduction percussion and pressure flaking rather than cruder flintknapping. Knapping was done using antler batons, hardwood batons and soft stone hammers, permitting the working of delicate slivers of flint to make light projectiles and even elaborate barbed and tanged arrowheads. Large thin spear-heads; scrapers with edge not on the side but on the end; flint knives and saws, but all still chipped, not ground or polished; long spear-points, with tang and shoulder on one side only, are also characteristic implements of this industry. Bone and antler were used as well.

The Solutrean may be seen as a transitory stage between the flint implements of the Mousterian and the bone implements of the Magdalenian epochs. Faunal finds include horse, reindeer, mammoth, cave lion, rhinoceros, bear and aurochs. Solutrean finds have been also made in the caves of Les Eyzies and Laugerie Haute, and in the Lower Beds of Creswell Crags in Derbyshire, England. The industry first appeared in modern-day Spain and disappears from the archaeological record around 15,000 BCE.

Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the Roman equivalent of the Greek god Zeus who was credited in that civilization with creating mankind. As we have seen in our journey through the Great Years, most of these ages occurred in "pre-history", the time before writing was invented and history began to be recorded. It is believed that writing was first developed among the Sumerians between 3,000 and 4,000 BCE, as the age of Gemini was drawing to a close. All we know today about the period before that time has been gleaned from artifacts discovered throughout the world showing that truly human civilizations began to appear sometime after 40,000 BCE. But we also know something about these early ancestors from remnants of oral traditions handed down over thousands of years, traditions which became the foundation of the mythologies of early civilizations such as the Babylonians and the Greeks, as well as all other ancient civilizations in all parts of the world.

"In the beginning was the Mother". As far back as 30,000 years ago, the people of the earth worshipped a female deity. In cultures around the world, the Goddess has been revered in myriad forms, in temple and grove, cathedral and cave. She has been celebrated and venerated through ritual, myth, and art. She is the Great Mother, representing the fertility which brings forth all life; as Mother Nature she is the living biosphere of both the planets and the forces of the elements; she has roles of both creator and destroyer; she is the Queen of Heaven; and she is the moon. She possesses magickal powers and is emotion, intuition and psychic faculty. The Goddess is Gaia, the earth, Ix Chel, the moon, Arianrhod, the stars. She is Oya, who brings the storms, and she is Mary, who calms them. She is Nut, who births creation, and Kali, who destroys it. She is maiden, mother, queen and crone;lover and spinster, warrior and sibyl, nurturer and judge.

The Divine Force within the Goddess is believed to be genderless, but it is manifested as male and female principles within the universe. Often within the worship of the Divine Force the Goddess, or the female principle, is emphasized to the exclusion of The Horned God, or the male principle, but, theoretically both are recognized. The Goddess has many facets, names and aspects and Goddess worship dates back to Paleolithic times. Many anthropologists speculate the first “God ” or gods of the peoples were feminine. This coincides with ancient creation myths and beliefs that creation was achieved through self-fertilization. Within the concept of creation the participation of the male principle was not known or recognized yet. The Goddess was believed to have created the universe by herself alone, and from this belief came the agricultural religions. It was thought that the gods only prospered by the beneficence and wisdom which the Goddess showered on them. Evidence appears to indicate most ancient tribes and cultures were matriarchal. This does not mean the feminine portions of these societies held themselves superior over their male counterparts, because Goddess worship was balanced by honoring both the male and female Deities, as illustrated by the observance of the sacred marriage of the Sky God and Earth Mother in many global societies.

Among the first human images discovered are the “Venus figures,” nude female figures having exaggerated sexual parts that date back to the Cro-Magnons of the Upper Paleolithic period between 35,000 and 10,000 BCE. In southern France is the Venus of Laussel, carved in basrelief in a rock shelter, appears once to have been a hunting shrine dating to around 19,000 BCE. In this carving the woman is painted red, perhaps to suggest blood, and holds a bison horn in one hand. Also in Cro-Magnon cave paintings women are depicted giving birth. A naked Goddess appears to have been the patroness of the hunt to mammoth hunters in the Pyrenees and was also protectress of the hearth and lady of the wild things. Throughout the eons of history the Goddess assumed many aspects. She was seen as the creatress, virgin, mother, destroyer, warrior, huntress, homemaker, wife, artist, jurist, healer and sorcerer, her roles or abilities increasing with the advancement of the cultures which worshipped her. Throughout the centuries the Goddess has acquired a thousand names and a thousand faces but most always she has represented nature, associated with both the sun and moon, the earth and the sky. But perhaps her best known role is Gaia, the Earth Mother.

Gaia is the Earth goddess of Greek mythology who mated with her son Uranus to produce the remaining Titans. Gaea seems to have started as a neolithic earth-mother worshipped before the Indo-European invasion that eventually led to the Hellenistic civilization. In Greek Mythology, Hesiod’s Theogony tells how, "after Chaos arose broad-breasted Gaia the everlasting foundation of the gods of Olympus. She brought forth Uranus, the starry sky, her equal, to cover her, the hills, and the fruitless deep of the Sea, Pontus, 'without sweet union of love', out of her own self. But afterwards, Hesiod tells, she lay with Uranus and bore the World-Ocean Oceanus, Coeus and Crius and the Titans Hyperion and Iapetus, Theia and Rhea, Themis and Mnemosyne and Phoebe of the golden crown and lovely Tethys".

“After them was born Cronos the wily, youngest and most terrible of her children who hated his lusty sire.” When Uranus hid the Hecatonchires and the Cyclopes in Tartarus causing pain to Gaia (Tartarus was her bowels), she shaped a great flint sickle which she gave to Cronos, who took the sickle and castrated his father as he approached Gaia to have intercourse with her. Uranus called his sons “Titans,” meaning“strainers” for they strained and did presumptuously a fearful deed, for which vengeance would come afterwards; for, as Uranus had been deposed by his son Cronus, so was Cronus destined to be overthrown by Zeus, the son born to him by his sister-wife Rhea. In the meantime, the Titans released the Cyclopes from Tartarus, and Cronus was awarded the kingship among them, beginning a Golden Age.

Gaia is believed by some sources (Joseph Fontenrose 1959 and others) to be the original deity behind the Oracle at Delphi. She passed her powers on to, depending on the source, Poseidon, Apollo or Themis. Apollo is the best-known as the oracle power behind Delphi, long established by the time of Homer, having killed Gaia’s child Python there and usurped the chthonicpower. Hera punished Apollo for this by sending him to King Admetus as a shepherd for nine years.

Most recently in our own age the role of Gaia has been revived as a theory positing that the Earth is a self-regulating complex system involving the biosphere, the atmosphere, the hydrospheres and the pedosphere, tightly coupled as an evolving system. The theory posits that this system as a whole, called Gaia, seeks a physical and chemical environment optimal for contemporary life, evolving through a cybernetic feedback system operated unconsciously by the biota, continuously stabilizing conditions of habitability in which all lifeforms can exist and evolve themselves. Many processes on Earth essential for the conditions of life depend on the interaction of living forms, especially microorganisms, with inorganic elements. These processes establish a global control system that regulates Earth's surface temperature, atmospheric composition and ocean salinity, maintaining the global thermodynamic equilibrium state of the Earth system. The originality of the Gaia theory relies on the assessment that such homeostatic balance is actively pursued with the goal of keeping the optimal conditions for life, even when terrestrial or external events menace them.

The great psychiatrist Carl Jung believed the similarity of mythological themes found among all these diverse cultures in different parts of the world was empirical evidence of the existence of a part of the psyche he termed the collective unconscious. He coined the term "archetypes" as the means by which these unconscious contents come into consciousness by "cloaking themselves" in the everyday material of the collective societies' shared conscious experience. In Archetypes and the Collective Unconscious (volume 9 of the collected works), he described this concept as similar to Plato's conception of the Idea as supraordinate and pre-existent to all phenomena. He saw this as an a priori factor in all human activies, namely the inborn preconsious, and unconscious, individual structure of the psyche. Archetypes are not only disseminated by tradition, language, and migration, but they can arise spontaneously at any time, at any place, and without any outside influence. Thus there are present in every psyche forms wich are unconscious but nonetheless active-living dispositions that preform and continually influence our thoughts, and feelings and actions. It is important to point out that the archetypes are not determined as regards their content, but only as regards their form. A primordial image is determined as to its content only when it has become conscious and is therefore filled out with the material of conscious experience.

At some level we are all aware of a fundamental dichotomy between subjective experience and objective reality—the so-called ‘mind-body’ dualism that has plagued philosophers for millennia. And on reflection most will agree that this duality only concerns humans — as far as we know other animals live entirely in the here and now, do not introspect, and have little if any self-awareness (much less awareness of awareness). Part of the problem, according to Julian Jaynes in his controversial book The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind, published in 1976, is that consciousness is not any of the things we usually think of it as being. In particular, it is not equivalent to the ‘consciousness of consciousness’ that begat dualism, a notion that only serves to confound attempts at definition. Nor is it synonymous with experience, conceptualization, learning, thinking, reason, or being awake. Each of these latter mental activities functions quite well without conscious attention.

Consciousness then is something distinct from most of the activities that we normally attribute to mind. Jaynes defines it as an interior mental representation of the self, a metaphorical “space” of introspection wherein the analog “I” can work through problems to “see” the outcomes of potential solutions. Consciousness is created through metaphorical use of language, which allows the spatialization of time necessary for visualizing “linear” sequences of past events and future outcomes—indeed, without consciousness there is no perception of time. The central role of metaphor in the construction of consciousness is manifest in the way we describe our subjective experience in everyday language: for example, we “see” things in our mind’s “eye”; we have a “gut feeling” that something is true. None of these descriptions of experience is meant literally; they are all metaphorical. But we know exactly what they mean, because that is how consciousness works.

The question then is: when did consciousness first emerge? Most will assume that humans have always been conscious. But not so according to Jaynes: although written texts existed much earlier, metaphorical usage did not appear until about the first millennium BC, beginning about the time of the Odyssey. Before that language usage was entirely literal—metaphor is largely absent in the Illiad. If consciousness is based on the use of metaphor, this would suggest that prior to ~3000 years ago humans were not conscious. And yet by that time civilization had already existed for several millennia. How was this possible? The answer is that the first civilizations were built not through conscious effort, but rather by humans obediently—and quite unconsciously—following the vocal commands of their gods.

Jaynes’s study of ancient texts and other artifacts suggests that prior to the emergence of consciousness humans were motivated — literally slaves to — hallucinated voices that told them what to do, a phenomenon akin to that experienced by modern day schizophrenics. To the person hearing them, hallucinated voices seem just as real — and just as external — as actual voices, because their perception involves the same auditory apparatus of the brain. Like most brain functions this apparatus is contained in both hemispheres. In contrast, the brain circuitry required for speech is confined entirely to the left hemisphere. The normal function of the equivalent region in the right hemisphere has long been a mystery; indeed, it is often assumed not to be necessary, as unlike the left side, it can be removed without major adverse effects. Jaynes posits that this region within the right hemisphere is a vestige of an ancestral structure whose function was to generate hallucinated commands. As far as bicameral humans were concerned, the hallucinated voices came from gods. Early on gods and kings were one and the same, so the hallucinations probably sounded much like the actual voice of the king. In this way the god-king was perceived to command his subjects even without being in their presence, promoting social coherence.

Jaynes theorizes that the bicameral mind developed concomitantly with language, the emergence of which was a prerequisite for civilization. Humans are social animals, and in animal societies the size of the group is limited by the mode of communication. Nonhuman primate societies are kept relatively small owing to simple patterns of vocal communication, and this is likely to have been true for prehistoric humans as well, who probably lacked complex language (which would explain why human culture remained so rudimentary for hundreds of thousands of years). As language developed along with agriculture, the resulting enhancement of both communication and division of labor allowed societies to become larger and more complex. Jaynes suggests that this was facilitated by the independent but correlated development of mechanisms for vocalization (confined to the left hemisphere of the brain) and induction of auditory hallucinations (confined to the right hemisphere). Whenever habitual activities were stymied by novel problems requiring a decision, hallucinated commands induced by the stress of uncertainty (as occurs in contemporary schizophrenics) would have directed creative solutions that were also socially constructive, being perceived as emanating from an acknowledged authority. Cultural entrainment would have ensured that the hallucinated commands were more or less consistent with the interests of the group. Because of the adaptive benefits of large coordinated societies, natural selection would have favored the evolution of the bicameral mind.

From this it should be clear why Jaynes’s theory is disturbing to many: it provides a provocative albeit quite compelling explanation for the natural origins of religious belief. The ancients who wrote of being commanded by the spoken words of their gods were not being metaphorical — they were being literal. But those voices originated inside their heads. It wasn’t until the voices began to recede that words began to adopt metaphorical meanings, paving the way for the emergence of consciousness as we know it. Could these "voices of gods" being perceived literally really be the emergence of archetypes from the right side of the brain which maintains our connection with the collective unconscious, pre-established as to form but gaining material for manifestation from the conscious contents existing in the left side of the brain, i.e. nature as percieved in the conscious experience of man?

These myths were handed down through countless generations as oral traditions until they were finally recorded in written word by the great poets such as Homer and Hesiod. Many of these myths referred to the Gods teaching men the arts and sciences, including agriculture, winemaking, and the healing arts. You have to wonder - how did prehistoric man arrive at these technologies that completely revolutionized the state of human existence? Remember, the beginnings of the human civilization of homo sapiens appeared 200,000 years ago and the migration from Africa 100,000 years ago. Yet life remained relatively the same as it had for the 2 to 3 millions years since earliest humans first emerged during the last Ice Age. It wasn't until 40,000 years ago the first evidence of culture emerged, and then suddenly, there was a poliferation of human cultures and a great advancement in technologies which allowed these heretefore nomadic groups of hunter-gatherers to settle down in agricultural-based communities.

Sagittarius falls then on The Sphere of Chockmah which is again ruled by Trident of Neptune even though the Sun Sign itself is under Jupiter. The Sephira is numbered 2. This is is the Sphere of Wisdom on the descent it is the Concept of Wisdom on the ascendency it is Wisdom Realised via experience of all that was all that is and all that will be.

This is the Sphere of The Zodiac The Supreme Male Concept that is The All Father The Aeropagus it is also Chaos/Beast and Hadit. It is so apt that in Magich this Sephira is the also the Realm of the Mage.

Hadit is an Egyptian Diety He identifies himself as the point in the center of the circle, the axle of the wheel, the cube in the circle, "the flame that burns in every heart of man, and in the core of every star," and the worshipper's own inner self. Hadit has been interpreted as the inner spirit of man, the Holy Ghost, the sperm and egg in which the DNA of man is carried, the Elixir Vitae. When juxtaposed with Nuit in The Book of the Law, Hadit represents each unique point-experience. These point-experiences in aggregate comprise the sum of all possible experience, Nuith.

Hadit, "the Great God, the lord of the sky," is depicted on the Stele of Revealing in the form of the winged disk of the Sun, Horus of Behdet (also known as the Behdeti).

Hadit is the Secret Seed. In The Book of the Law he says; "I am alone: there is no god where I am." He is "the flame that burns in every heart of man, and in the core of every star." He is identified with kundalini; in The Book of the Law he says, "I am the Secret Serpent coiled about to spring: in my coiling there is joy. If I lift up my head, I and my Nuit are one. If I droop down mine head, and shoot forth venom, then is rapture of the earth, and I and the earth are one. There is great danger in me...".

Hadit is the Fire of Desire at the Heart of Matter (Nuit). The combination of the upward-pointing triangle of Hadit and the downward-pointing triangle of Nuit forms the Star of Spirit (the Hexagram). The union of the infinitely small Hadit and the infinitely great Nuit causes an explosive rapture which leads to samādhi.

His symbols are our Sun, the serpent, the Fire Snake, the star Sothis, the planet Pluto, sperm, the Will, the winged globe, the Hermit, and the hidden flame. He is Leo to Nuit's Aquarius. He is LVX to Nuit's NOX. The short form of his name, Had, forms the central syllable of the word of the Aeon, Abrahadabrah

There is much to go forth and return to within this Sephira. Further all The Kings, (Knights if you are using Book of Thoth), are to be Found here as is all The Two Cards.

Recall we are above the Abyss and Chokmah is linked to The Supreme Feminine in Binah by The Empress III.
His influence is linked to KETHER The Crown by Atu 0 The Fool To Tipareth by The Star XVII and To Chesed by The Hierophant.

The Voice is I See and this is the Percieved Third Eye Refelecting on The Waters - That is Fiat Lux.

There is no Magickal Aeon for this Age.

The 13th Sign stands above all this some are born under it and it is by the awareness of it they percieve matters unknown to others The 13th Sign is
Ophiuchus. This occurs at the dawning and ending of ages.

As for where The Archer has shot his arrow in Sagitta that is another formulae as yet to be revealed.

    1. Thank you often I write just too much - this month is a quiet month too much information all at once to effectively verbalise.
